Progress on the Master Hand Knitter Program

Anne loaded up her knitting reference books, swatches, and notebooks and carved out some time while she was in New York to begin working on the questions relating to swatches 1-3. Because the first level of the program covers the basics, Anne is able to write out the answers without researching for the most part, but still has to prove her work by providing references. It’s a bit frustrating, but having her nose in the books is helping her learn other bits of information that she’s storing away for later.

Her favorite reference books for level one so far are The Reader’s Digest Knitter’s Handbook, Vogue Knitting, and The Principles of Knitting.

Karbonz Circular Needles

Knitter’s Pride Karbonz needles are a combination of brass and carbon fiber. They are lightweight and smooth without being slippery. Anne was very impressed with the ease with which her knitting moved passed the joins. Listen to the episode for more details, or try a pair for yourself.

Charity Knitting Resource

Knitting for Charity is an excellent resource for finding organizations that are looking for help from knitters. You can search by area, issue, or type of knitted good. It’s a very handy site to be aware of when you’re between projects!
